Kristian and her husband Pete have made Asheboro their home for 21 years. She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Degree in Political Science and from Campbell Law School with a J.D. Kristian practiced law in Greensboro in a private practice for six years before joining The Randolph County District Attorney's Office. Kristian and Pete enjoy raising their 2 sons, attending basketball games, traveling, and working around their home.

Carter Bills

Born and raised nearby, in High Point, NC, Carter Bills has lived in Asheboro since 2011. Joining Uwharrie Charter Academy’s Board of Directors in 2018, Carter has served the community in other areas including: Board Member of the National Sports Media Association (NSMA); Board Member on the Randolph County Senior, Boomer, Caregiver Expo; Board Member of High Point University’s Young Alumni Council; Advisor to Pi Kappa Alpha, Delta Omega at HPU; Youth Soccer Coach at the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA; and Volunteer at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. Professionally, Carter works as an AVP of Golf for Wasserman— a global sports & entertainment agency representing Brands, Properties, Athletes and Musicians that includes 3,000+ Talent across all Sports and Music genres. Chiefly, he serves as an expert consultant for some of biggest brands in the sport of Golf and also drives new revenue for the Golf Division’s Athletes, Events, and Consulting & Hospitality clients. Prior to joining Wasserman in 2016, Carter developed 10-years of experience in business development that included work in the NBA with the Charlotte Hornets franchise. Graduating cum laude from High Point University, he earned a BS in Business Administration, Economics; and a BA in Communication, Journalism with also studying International Business and Communications during a semester abroad in Oxford, UK. Carter met his wife, Morgan Hunt Bills (born and raised in Randolph County), while both at HPU. They have two children— Mary Rush (2014) and Hunt (2017); and a yellow lab, Holden (2012).

Mr. Valery Dambreville “Val” is married to his lovely wife Rose and has 3 children, Giselle, Tabitha, and Vince. On his free time, Val enjoys spending time with his family and caring for their pet chickens. Val was born in Haiti and raised in Brooklyn, New York but spent majority of his adulthood in Florida. Val has over 10yrs of leadership experience in Social Services. Prior to moving to North Carolina, Val was the Statewide Child Welfare Policy Manager for the Florida Department of Children and Families. Val is currently the Assistant Director for the Department of Social Services. Val has his Master degree in Public Administration. He is an alumnus of the National Association of Counties, High Performance Leadership Academy and the State of Florida Leadership Academy. Val is a passionate advocate for the Safety, Well-being, and Permanency of children.

Paige Fish
Paige Albertson Fish joins the Uwharrie Charter Academy Board of Directors in 2024. A prosecutor in the Randolph County District Attorney’s Office, Paige represents North Carolina in prosecuting criminal cases in Randolph County and, prior to that, in Guilford County. In addition to serving the State as an assistant district attorney, she also enjoys serving her community by volunteering with a local nonprofit, Serco of Archdale-Trinity. Paige earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Appalachian State University and her Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University. Born and raised in Randolph County, Paige resides in Trinity with her husband, Josh, their two children, Elise and James, and their dog Finch.

Rebecca Mead
Governance Committee Chair
Rebecca Mead was born and raised in Asheboro, NC where she graduated from Asheboro High School. She went on to pursue a degree in Communications from UNC-Greensboro and graduated in 2010. She currently works as an Event Coordinator for Agency Resource Solutions, a company that trains Remote Service Specialists for State Farm Agents. She is also a Remote Service Specialist for three State Farm agents in the North Carolina area.
Rebecca is also an avid volunteer for the Junior League of Greensboro where she currently serves as the upcoming Executive Vice President. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband of 10 years, Philip (also of Asheboro), her two children Monroe and Walker and their animals. She enjoys traveling to new places and loves a good podcast.

John Reid
Secretary/Academic Excellence Committee Chair
John A. Reid joined the Uwharrie Charter Academy Board of Directors in 2022. He is a retired law enforcement officer with 30 years of service. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and a Law Enforcement Consultant at Pfeiffer University. He has served the Randolph County community as a graduate of Leadership Randolph, membership on the Farmer Elementary School Advisory Council, the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, and the State Employees Credit Union Advisory Board. He has also served as President of the N.C. Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates. Additionally, he has coached football and women’s basketball at Southwestern Randolph High School for several years. John and his family are members at First Baptist Church in Asheboro, where he has served both as Deacon and Chairman of the Diaconate. John earned his BS from East Carolina University and his MS from the University of Alabama. He is also a graduate of the 221st Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. John was born and raised in Albemarle, N.C. but now resides in Asheboro with his wife Lora and two children, Allee and Bryson.

Regina Rush

Living in Randolph County my entire life, I am a graduate of Randleman High School. I continued my education by graduating from High Point University with a double major: BS in Accounting and a BA in Business Administration. I also attended Pfeiffer University where I earned by Masters’ Degree in Leadership and Organizational Development. My husband and I live in Asheboro, NC with our miniature Schnauzer, Bentley. We are active within our church, Sunset Avenue Church of God. I enjoy volunteering, hiking to the many waterfalls in NC, and attending sporting events. I currently serve as the Youth Services Chair for Randolph Rotary Club in addition to serving on the Board for UCA. My career has allowed me many opportunities to develop my skills in Finance, Management, Project Management, Data and Analytics. My current role is as a Data Solutions Architect with First Bank.

Ryan Terry

Ryan Terry is the owner of Terry Property Management, a Real Estate investment company focused on providing affordable housing opportunities in the triad area, established in 2021. Ryan is also a Real Estate agent with Coldwell Banker Advantage. Prior to starting his company and a career in Real Estate, Ryan was a Manager in a Medical Manufacturing facility and worked in Medical manufacturing for over 15 years. In his free time Ryan enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Kristen, and two daughters Nubia and Justice. Ryan has lived in Asheboro for over 15 years.

Jonathan Thill

Dr. Jonathan Thill, Ed.D. is a resident of Asheboro, NC and the founder of VentureAsheboro, a business accelerator space. Dr. Thill is an entrepreneurship education advocate and hosts accelerator programs, mentorship platforms, and creates documentaries about inspiring entrepreneurs. In addition to his service on the board of UCA, Dr. Thill serves on the boards of the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce and RhinoLeap Productions.

Eric Ward
Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair
Eric Ward was born and raised in Randolph County. He grew up in the Randleman area where he attended both Randleman Elementary and Middle schools before transferring to Fayetteville Street Christian School where he graduated in 2002. He then went on to North Carolina A & T State University where he pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is married to his high school sweetheart Jessica and they have 3 children; Jaxon, Ellie, and Tate. Eric is the president of Triad Heating & Cooling, Inc. with locations in Asheboro, Greensboro, and Elkin where he employs over 20 people. He and his wife also own and operate A Fairview Farm where they enjoy raising black Angus beef cows and giving farm tours to educate the next generations.

Greg Zephir

Greg Zephir joined the Uwharrie Charter Academy Board of Directors in 2019. Greg is currently the Town Manager for the Town of Troy and has served in that capacity for 15 years. Greg also currently serves as the Chairman for the Troy Neighborhood Redevelopment Corporation and is President of the Troy Dixie Baseball League. Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Chowan University and a Masters of Public Administration Degree from East Carolina University and is an ICMA Credentialed Manager. He is also a graduate of the Public Executive Leadership Academy at UNC Chapel Hill. He and is wife, Alicia, have been married for 20 years. They enjoy supporting their two wonderful children, Logan and Landon, and attending all of their baseball and softball games.
